This is the one where Microsoft Exchange, SQL, and Hyper-V customers go shopping for storage at Microsoft’s biggest partners but decide that Drobo is a better choice. We love this story.
We’ve just completed some customer research polling our business users, and I asked the team to cut the data to only those who were in pure Microsoft application or virtualization environments. Over 75% of these customers Drobo business customers had already shopped Dell or HP storage (the two largest Microsoft partners on the planet) and decided that their storage needs were better met with Drobo. They also reported that they saved over $12,000 and an estimated 4 hours per week (you do the math) in storage management time. Not bad. Not bad at all.
And thanks go to Microsoft Gold Resellers such as John Jensen (Jensen IT) in Chicago and Tim Dietrich of King Computer, a Microsoft Gold in Atlanta and Barbados. They echoed the sentiment that Drobo is not only an easy buy for their customers, but also an easy sell once a customer does their homework. If you’ve been thinking about Drobo for your Microsoft environment, there has never been a better time and I strongly encourage you to get a live demo from one of our solution architects. Or check out the Drobo + Microsoft Small Business Server solutions.
But it’s going to get even better (note that a product pre-announcement is coming here). We will be shipping enhancements to our Drobo B1200i later this month that accelerate performance and improve integration into Microsoft environments. Late April – watch this space.
