Top Silicon Valley company you wish you worked for

blog mblandini logo Top Silicon Valley company you wish you worked forWork. By itself, the word “work” usually has a less than positive connotation. My brother is an artist.  His work schedule is nowhere similar to mine; he works at odd hours when inspiration comes, he works intensely, and it is all positive. I like a more structured role as part of a team and I probably work more for money than my brother, but for me too work is positive. A fan of great people in Marketing, I have always liked what Debra Sandler said when she worked at Pepsi in the 90s: Why [work}?  For technical excellence.Continue Reading

Why reviews are so important

blog mblandini logo Why reviews are so importantHow do you shop for and buy significant items? For technical people, there is inevitably a strong research component. Wikipedia defines a review as “an evaluation of a piece of hardware like a car, home appliance, or computer.” My bet is that if you’re reading this, you’re the type of person who reads detailed independent reviews before buying any of these things. Sometimes it’s hard to predict just how “good” something can be

blog tbuiocchi e1332538899728 Sometimes its hard to predict just how good something can beI have to admit I don’t like the NBA. Just don’t like the style of basketball they play. But I am generally a hoops fan, grew up in New York, loved the Knicks as a kid, and live near Palo Alto, CA now. So I’m all over this Jeremy Lin “Linsanity” thing. And the best part of it is that nobody could have predicted it would happen and nobody knew how good Jeremy Lin would be in a Knicks uniform. Nobody.  I just got back from a trip to visit our top resellers in NY last week, and although everyone there is enjoying the Knicks and Giants, nobody had expected it.Continue Reading

We’ve got quite a few exciting and new things to share in 2012 and we hope you’ll find this space very informative and interactive. I’m very much looking forward to taking our  conversations to yet another level. Thanks in advance for your participation.

At the end of 2011 we announced that over 200,000 Drobo storage systems are now deployed worldwide. And, for the first time, over half our revenue came in from Drobo products designed specifically for business. It’s been fun and very rewarding for me to be part of a vastly improved and transformed company, and the best is yet to come from Drobo in 2012.Continue Reading
