For me it is like going back to campus with fond memories of days @ college, as my days in the Marine Corps started in San Diego. Right outside the base is Old Town, the site of the first European settlement in present-day California. Junipero Serra and team had great taste in choosing a great spot with beautiful weather.

It was my first time there, and I really enjoyed the flashbacks to my childhood eating authentic arroz con gandules (rice with peas) and pasteles (similar to tamales). Interop 2012 Las Vegas – a reunion in many ways

blog mblandini logo Interop 2012 Las Vegas – a reunion in many waysThis was Drobo’s first time participating in Interop. Having spent almost a decade in big networking prior to Drobo, I caught up with hundreds of friends and customers that I’d worked with in the past – not unlike a high-school reunion. The word “reunion” is the noun form of the verb “reunite,” a Middle English term from the Medieval Latin root “reunitus“: to bring together again. Just like a high school reunion, everyone commented on how I have a lot less hair than they remember (aren’t reunions great icon wink Interop 2012 Las Vegas – a reunion in many ways ).

Heterogeneous is one of those terms. I rather like the “big H” word, generally defined as a variety of different elements mixed together. It applies to many facets of technology and to life as well.
